Air Travel
Travelling by air is probably the fastest and most convenient way to travel long distances. There are hundreds of choices when it comes to air traveling. Whether you choose to sit and relax with a cocktail in the first class section of your local high-cost airline or if you prefer you can travel with a lost-cost airline. Many people also have the privilege of owning their own private aircrafts and jets, which will on the long run save them quite a few dollars if they are traveling with more than one person at a time.
Air travel is generally much cheaper than other forms of travel if you are traveling alone. Sea travel and road travel will work you out much more if you are planning on traveling long distances, therefore many people take to the skies, either through public transport or in a privately owned aircraft.
Other factors that make air travel the most popular means of traveling is because it is far safer than road and sea travel as there aren't so many accidents and it is time-saving. In normal circumstances a passenger airplane will travel over a distance of 900 km in about a hour whereas with a car it will take you approximately 9 hours.
However traveling by air has a few minor downsides, such as, lack of space. This does vary significantly from one airline to another, and from one airplane model to another. If you travel a lot, you might want to test different airlines and airplanes to determine your preferences. If you are very tall, you may prefer an aisle seat. This will hopefully give you a chance to stretch your legs into the aisle from time to time. Even better is to get a "bulkhead seat": there is usually more legroom in those positions. Another downside is that some people experience motion sickness, luckily medication can be taken to prevent this.
When weighing up the pros and cons of air travel, you will definitely find that there are more advantages than there are disadvantages.
