The Japanese government had already given their surrender, before the bombs were dropped. The US wanted to show its force to the Russians, to warn them not to act against the western forces in Germany. It might not be in your history books, I hope it will be in a few decades. By the way, Belgium never declared war on Japan, so I don't see why there would be any Belgian casualty at all.
I don't ask you to apologise for anything, I can't expect from you that you judge your own country with the same criteria as I have. that's normal."
