Question

Hi, I used to play many fighters simulations on PC, they are very realistic. But one problem is I cannot survive went my jet was aimed and shot but enemy missiles. I tried to use "Chaff" and "Flare" to misdirect those missiles but finally I still get caught. So I want to ask that what a real jet pilot does to avoid enemy missiles. Please contact me if anyone of you know. Thank you my pal.

Best thing is to avoid being engaged by the enemy. Sure it's not possible to be never engaged in a sim. Maybe you should say what simulations you are flying, because there're different tricks in different simulations.

Gernerally you have to use countermeasures in combination with evasive maneuvers to be successful. You can often find tips in the manuals of these simulations too.

Flying high is a good safety measure to avoid being threatened by short range and medium range air defences. You have also more time and room to react.

The first important thing to avoid a missile is to identify it. Normally you will be warned by your RWR and in the best case by specific MAWs.

Normally you know the direction of the enemy missile by looking where the launcher is on your RWR display. So look out "find" the missile. It's difficult to say when you have to break away, you have to train that, but in fact you must beginn the evasive maneuver early enough and edploy your countermeasures before that and during the avasive maneuver.
If the enemy is far away enough you can also flya 180°-turn and outrun the missile.
Crossing the missiles way is the most common used tactic to outmaneuver a missile.
