It could depend on who you're working with, and if your on their payroll, or just making one flight for them. You could be paid a salary or just for the time you flew for them. Pilots get a wide range of pay, when you first begin, you will most likely get next to nothing, but might get free accomidations. Being a pilot isn't the place to be if your just looking for money.

Usually a fresh pilot graduate will earn about US$24,000 anually,After some time and promotion etc,e.g,he goes from flying an B717 up to flying a boeing 747-400ER,and from a co-pilot to the pilot(sitting on the left when facing the windshield)....will get about US$200,000 annually....isnt that cool or what..but if i work as a pilot,it wouldnt be for the money,it would be for the love of planes and flying.

When you are young ,you get paid very little, when you get some experience you get paid good and spend most of it and when you get past the age of commercial flying and cannot stay away from airplanes, like myself, you get called mostly SIR or CAPTAIN but go back to get paid very little but this time with a TITTLE, HAR. I hope you like my explanation. Possibly you wil not believe it but it is true.
