An illustrated book I have, detailing airliners between 1905 and 1930 has a few images of German aircraft from this period.
The earlier photos show the aircraft baring registrations like "D-2394" and "D-2053", but the later photos haev aircraft baring registrations like "D-AZUR" and "D-ADLR". When was the change made from numbers to letters and why was this registration change made? Any information you have would be useful... |

Today german Planes with any typ of engines have Letters as registration, classified by the wight. One-engine-prop with max. 3t (I think 3, perhaps only 1,5) has the Registration
D-Exxx Motorgliders have D-Kxxx Helis D-Hxxx and so on The numbers are for the gliders. Greetings Hans Kraut (jokename) |
