The Valkaria Air Fest 2008 is guaranteed to be a day of fun, fascination, excitement, entertainment and education.
Visitors to the Valkaria Air Fest 2008 can look forward to a festival with so many exhibits and displays that they will not know where to start! The massive variety and comprehensive representation of aviation has made this magnificent festival an event that is supported by thousands of spectators and participants. Sponsors are also extremely proud to be associated with such a high caliber event that has remained successful. Its diversity is its greatest draw, as are the many interactive activities and unique attractions.
Under the Static Aircraft division, visitors will have the opportunity to get close to some of the fantastic machines of the skies, such as Biplanes, Home built aircraft, Ultralight aircraft, General Aviation Airplanes, Hot Air Balloons and Sailplanes. The historical presentations are heart-stopping windows into the wars and many difficult situations that relied on aviation and its developments to save lives. It is also a rare chance to talk to true heroic pilots and airmen. These brave and loyal men will be in attendance to answer questions and to share some of their most memorable experiences with the public.
As far as activities go, the most popular of all the attractions is the rides exhibit. Here, anyone can become a fighter pilot or a pilot in training for the day. Professional pilots are on hand to take visitors on the trip of a lifetime. There are helicopter rides, rides in a 1942 Stearman PT-17 biplane, a SNJ/Harvard/T-6 Texan and a few warbirds. Everything at the festival is free of charge, but a small fee will be charged for the rides. Other attractions include the hot air balloons, music, dancing, prizes, a Boy Scout Campout, and tasty food and refreshments. Exhibitors include schools, manufacturers, aviation companies, organizations and service providers.
The demonstrations for the day are also going to be nail biting and very exciting, with the program line up including skydiving, radio controlled aircraft demonstrations, demos done by the Palm Bay Police K-9 and Drug Detection Unit and by the Brevard County Fire Rescue. Motorgliders, Powered Parachutes and Gyrocopters will also be taking to the air. The Valkaria Air Fest 2008 is an event for the entire family, and for all aviation enthusiasts.
