The HAI Heli-Expo 2008 in Houston, Texas
The HAI Heli-Expo is the largest gathering of helicopter fanatics and aviation industry members of the year. This annual event attracts hundreds of exhibitors and spectators, and with each passing year the popularity of the HAI Heli-Expo grows. The organizers of this spectacular aviation expo, HAI, or Helicopter Association International, ensure that the expo has a wide variety of stalls and activities, and that the expo is comprehensive, to cover all aspects of the helicopter and aviation industry.
The HAI Heli-Expo 2008 will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Centre in Houston, Texas, and will run from the 24th of February to the 26th of February 2008. The Helicopter Association International is a trade association that serves the helicopter industry. They are responsible for promoting safety and keeping the helicopter community updated on the latest technology and advances in the industry. At present, there are approximately 1,500 helicopter organizations affiliated with HAI, and almost a thousand individual members. This means that there are more than five thousand helicopters in operation and the safety of their crew and passengers is the main focus of the HAI.
At the HAI Heli-Expo 2008, visitors and pilots can again look forward to educational courses for pilots, operators and all aviation professionals, as the there are many courses that fall under the categories of maintenance, management, piloting and safety. In addition, there are mentoring programs that include a pilots program and a maintenance technicians program. Many people come to the expo to browse through the Heli-Expo Job Fair, where companies advertise job opportunities, visitors can apply for the positions, and the youth can learn more about the opportunities and various divisions in the civil helicopter industry.
There are hundreds of exhibitors who attend the HAI Heli-Expo to promote their products and services. Last year, exhibitors included Concorde Battery Corporation, Aero Dynamix Inc, Dallas Avionics Inc, Future Aviation Inc, LifePort Inc, Armour of America Inc, Hartwig Fuel Cell Repair, Pratt & Whitney Canada Tooling, Garmin USA, NationAir Insurance Agencies, Barry Controls Aerospace, Sky Connect LLC, Vertical Magazine, Rotorcraft Enterprizes, East West Helicopter Inc and International Turbine Service. It is an opportunity to recruit new clients and for visitors to explore the world of helicopter aviation.
Another highlight of the expo is the 2008 “Salute to Excellence” Awards Banquet, and this year, Steve and Nancy Sullivan have been announced to be the recipients of the Lawrence D. Bell Award. At this ceremony, all those who have contributed to the industry are recognized and rewarded for their efforts. From helicopters, to courses, exhibits and awards ceremonies, the HAI Heli-Expo 2008 is guaranteed to be another successful expo of the helicopter industry.
