Biofuel Research Led by Pratt & Whitney

Pratt & Whitney Canada recently announced that it was heading up an aerospace industry-university research effort designed to investigate which biofuels might be potentially used to power small and medium sized aircraft engines. The decision comes in the wake of the new UK biofuel policy review and should ultimately help to prove the feasibility of using biofuels to power aircraft.

Eclipse Aviation Launches New Single-Engine Jet

The single-jet market got even larger recently when Eclipse Aviation announced plans to bring the new Eclipse 400 single-engine jet to market. Despite heavy competition, the aircraft is still turning heads. It is a production version of the Eclipse Concept Jet that was displayed at EAA AirVenture last year. There is a lot more to this little jet than meets the eye and those acquainted with the data are eager to see this aircraft take to the skies.

Diamond’s Latest D-Jet Takes Off

Diamond Aircraft Industries recently announced the successful first flight of the new D-Jet 003. The aircraft flew from the London office in Ontario to complete a successful maiden flight that lasted approximately one hour and twenty-five minutes. Test pilot Daniel Ribeiro was at the controls.

Canadian International Air Show 2007 this September

The Canadian International Air Show (CIAS-07) took place on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of September 2007, which was Canada’s Labor Day weekend. The event took place at the Toronto waterfront, over Lake Ontario. On Saturday the 1st the show started at 13:00 pm and it ended on Monday the 3rd at 16:00 pm.

Canada to Buy Mothballed Danish Drones – Airplanes

Canada’s Department of National Defense (DND) is interested in purchasing ten aerial drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), from Denmark that never worked for that country. This will be the latest in a series of highly publicized investments in used, faulty military equipment that the Canadian government has purchased in recent years.
