Cessna’s CJ4 Prototype Takes to the Air
Fans of the Cessna CJ3 have been waiting for next progression in a series of outstanding aircraft and it seems the Cessna CJ4 is finally almost ready to go into mass production. Cessna took the CJ4 prototype for its first test flight on Monday and it appears that the flight was very successful.
Cape Girardeau Regional Air Festival
Cape Girardeau has been known as a friendly and welcoming destination for visitors since as early as the 1700s. The 2008 Quad City Air Show is the 21st anniversary of this popular event and organizers are confident that it will be better than ever.
The Science Behind Sonic Boom
When any aircraft travels through the air it continuously produces air-pressure waves similar to the waves seen behind a ship when its bow ploughs through the water. When an aircraft exceeds the speed of sound, known as supersonic speed or Mach I, at about 760 miles per hour measured at sea level, it continually generates shockwaves which drop as a trail of sonic boom along its flight path. In relation to the aircraft, sonic boom sweeps backwards, away from the aircraft, in a cone shape. A person on the ground will hear the sonic boom as an explosion, similar to a clap of thunder, when the shock waves on the edges of the cone cross his location.
Gripen Demo Aircraft Revealed
The exciting new Gripen Demo aircraft was recently unveiled at a ceremony that took place at the Saab Linköping site. The new aircraft has got a lot of people excited and the unveiling revealed a few new facts about the Gripen Demo aircraft.
