First F-35 STOVL Aircraft Has Successful First Flight

Just recently the first F-35B STOVL aircraft took to the skies for its first successful test flight. The short takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL) jet took off from the Fort Worth Naval Air Station in Texas on June 12 and the flight lasted about 45 minutes. The test aircraft was piloted by test pilot Graham Tomlinson and the flight marked the second stage in the development of the next-generation of fighting aircraft.

Hungarian International Air Show and Military Display

C-130 AMP H2 Completes 100th Flight

Ever since Boeing was awarded the AMP contract in 2001, they have been hard at work ensuring that the military’s C-130 fleet meets the required standards. It would certainly seem that they are successful in reaching this goal as the company was able to announce that the H2 aircraft completed its 100th flight on 9 June 2008. This is the halfway milestone in the H2’s flight-test program and it would seem that the aircraft is ahead of its development schedule.
