Valkaria Air Fest 2008
The annual Valkaria Air Fest is always a major event on the aviation calendar. On the 16th of February 2008 the Valkaria Airport, in Florida in the United States of America, will be the host of this magnificent festival that promotes all forms of flight and pays respect to the pilots, engineers and visionaries of the past who have played vital roles in bringing aviation to this point. The Valkaria Air Fest 2008 is guaranteed to be a day of fun, fascination, excitement, entertainment and education.
Jack Northrop’s Aviation Legacy
Jack Northrop (born John Knudsen Northrop) was fascinated with airplanes from a young age. After his high school graduation Jack Northrop worked as a garage mechanic and later as an architectural draftsman. The skills he learned at these two jobs proved to be most beneficial to him as he carved a memorable career as a skilled and inventive designer.
Learjet NXT – Raising the Benchmark
Canadian aircraft manufacturer, Bombardier Aerospace, recently launched their new Learjet NXT which aims to redefine the mid-sized business aircraft category. The response to this new high-speed airplane has been very positive, with Bombardier currently holding more than 65 letters of intent for the Learjet NXT, which the company anticipates being converted into firm orders in the near future. The first airplane is scheduled for delivery in October 2008 coinciding with the 45th anniversary of the first Learjet flight.
The HAI Heli-Expo 2008 in Houston, Texas
The HAI Heli-Expo is the largest gathering of helicopter fanatics and aviation industry members of the year. This annual event attracts hundreds of exhibitors and spectators, and with each passing year the popularity of the HAI Heli-Expo grows. The organizers of this spectacular aviation expo, HAI, or Helicopter Association International, ensure that the expo has a wide variety of stalls and activities, and that the expo is comprehensive, to cover all aspects of the helicopter and aviation industry.
Warbirds Over Wanaka International Airshow
The Warbirds Over Wanaka International Airshow 2008, which is set to take place from 21 to 23 March at the Wanaka Airport, is considered by many to be the greatest warbird airshow in New Zealand, and even in the entire Southern Hemisphere. Mankind has had some incredible achievements in the past 100 years or so with regard to aviation, agriculture and general technology. Warbirds Over Wanaka is in honor of these achievements, which should be remembered and celebrated.
