New “Light Airplane Conference & Exhibition” Unveiled by NBAA
The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) recently announced the establishment of a new event, the three-day Light Airplane Conference & Exhibition (LAC&E). The new event will be dedicated mainly to operators who make use of light aircraft for business purposes and will focus on owners and operators of light jets, piston airplanes and turboprops.

Royal Air Force Cosford Air Show
Set to take place on 1 June 2008, the Royal Air Force Cosford Air Show gives aviation enthusiasts the opportunity to see a variety of aircraft, ranging from current RAF combat aircraft through to the airplanes that flew in combat in World War II. This premier annual event, which draws crowds from far and wide, is held in Cosford, Shropshire in the Midlands, northwest of Wolverhampton.
EU Allows Cell-Phones in Flight
The inability to use one’s cellular phone during flights in most parts of the world has gotten more than one person’s hackles up. As air hostesses and cell-phone holders battle it out almost daily on flights in some countries, the EU (European Union) gets set to legalize the use of cellular phones in flight in Europe.
FAA Inspections to Improve
The Acting Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Washington DC recently announced the results of a safety audit as well as internal plans to improve the general standards of the FAA Inspections. The safety audit showed that a striking 99 percent of airlines were complying with the Airworthiness Directives (ADs). While this is exceptionally high, steps are being taken to ensure that this success continues.

Litchford: Aviation Inventor and Pioneer
Over the years, aviation has seen many pioneers and inventors influence the industry greatly. Paving the way forward with nothing more than a vision or a dream, these seemingly ordinary people set aviation on a path of improvement, develop new technology and create a safer industry. Just recently, aviation said good-bye to one of its more recent aviation legends, George B. Litchford Sr., who patented an invention in 1988 that would go on to save countless lives.

Cannes, in France, is generally known for the popular Cannes Film Festival, but in the aviation industry it is beginning to gain recognition for its aviation exhibition, the Eur Avia Cannes. This year, the Eur Avia Cannes 2008 will be held between the 2nd to the 4th of May 2008 and is set to be an exhibition of magnificent proportions. Attend the Berlin Air Show 2008
The Berlin Air Show is a joint undertaking by Messe Berlin GmbH and the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI), and takes place every two years. The 2008 Berlin Air Show (ILA) is set to take place from 27 May to 1 June 2008 at the Schoenefeld Airport. The first three days of the air show will be devoted to interaction between aerospace product vendors and political, military and civil decision makers from Central and Eastern Europe. The Berlin Air Show will welcome visitors from the general public from 30 May to 1 June 2008.
