The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA), also known as Langkawi Air Show, which takes place every two years on the island of Langkawi in Malaysia, has become one of the world’s major air shows. The Langkawi Air Show will be held at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Center, situated close to the Langkawi International Airport in Malaysia, from 4 to 8 December 2007. With the emphasis being on defense, some of the events will be exclusively for VIPs, trade visitors and uniformed personnel as well as the press, but many of the exciting exhibitions, aerial and aerobatic displays will be open to the public.

It is only fitting that a spectacular air show would be named after Jacqueline Cochran, as her skill as a pilot, fiery personality and dedication to aviation placed her at the top of her game. Her career as a pilot started in 1932 and she did not wait to jump into the world of fast flying. By 1934 she was already taking part in the thrill and excitement of international air races and was extremely supportive of female pilots.

The Helicopter Museum, located in Weston-super-Mare on the south-west coast of England, is the largest all-weather undercover attraction in the area. The Dubai Air Show 2007 will be held between the 11th to the 15th of November 2007, and is hosted at the Airport Expo. Since its first show in 1989 it has become an international event that draws as many spectators and visitors as it does exhibitors and businessmen. It is an air show like to other, and has gained a reputation as the place to be to advertise or exhibit any aviation related products. This year, the Dubai Air Show will definitely be even better and bigger than the last.
Aviation Nation: Heritage to Horizons
The Las Vegas air show, Aviation Nation, which takes place at the Nellis Air Force Base is one the largest public events in Nevada, USA. It is also one of the most entertaining and diverse events, showcasing a large variety of aircraft. The 2007 show, taking place from 10 to 11 November, will be a salute to Air & Space power by hosting the grand finale of the year long United States Air Force’s 60th Anniversary celebrations.
The Soaring Success of the Red Arrows
The Red Arrows is a renowned aerobatic team that has gained world-wide recognition for its exciting and colorful displays. Officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows serve as ambassadors for the Royal Air Force as well as the United Kingdom. Since being formed in 1965, the Red Arrows have visited 52 countries, skillfully demonstrating the capabilities of their airplanes in over 4,000 displays. The badge for the Red Arrows depicts the aircraft in the diamond nine-formation that has become their trademark. The motto “Eclat” meaning “Excellence” also appears on the badge.
Adventures in Aviation – Celebrating Flight in Georgia
There have been so many changes and advances in the history of aviation that the roots of aviation are often overlooked. Georgia has a wonderful aviation heritage that started a hundred years ago, and is being celebrated at the Adventures in Aviation event that pays respect to the one hundred years of aviation in Georgia. On 20 October 2007, the McKinnon St. Simons Island Airport will host the Adventures in Aviation celebration, an aviation extravaganza for the entire family to enjoy.
The Remarkable Cri Cri
The Cri Cri aircraft is still considered to be an ingenuous masterpiece of aviation engineering, and is the smallest two engine aircraft in the world. What makes this aircraft even more spectacular is that it is a home built project. Pilots are able to construct their own Cri Cri according to the kit project specifications. Today there are approximately a hundred and fifty Cri Cri aircraft that are registered.
